UNDERSTAND THE WAIT

How Long Does It Take to Mine 1 Bitcoin?

A block reward, not a balance slowly filling up.

There is no fixed time to mine 1 Bitcoin. A solo miner does not gradually fill a balance toward 1 BTC: it finds an accepted Bitcoin block and receives the block reward, or it receives no block reward.

The reward is the block subsidy plus transaction fees. For heights 840,000–1,049,999, the subsidy is 3.125 BTC; it halves every 210,000 blocks. The current subsidy is calculated from the latest available height below. A solo pool may deduct its own fee.

Conventional payout pools can credit smaller amounts over time under their payout rules. That is different from waiting for your own solo block.

Statistical expected time to find a block—

This is a statistical average, not a countdown. Your next hash could theoretically find a block.

Next 24 hours

—Waiting for network data

Next 1 year

—Waiting for network data

Constant hashrate and difficulty assumed. Past hashes do not improve the probability of the next hash.

“Time to mine 1 Bitcoin” is not a countdown.

Mining is probabilistic. Even after one statistical expected waiting time, the Poisson model gives only about a 63.2% chance of at least one block. A miner can find one sooner, much later, or never during its operating life.

Why the estimate can change

Difficulty, uptime and hashrate affect the calculation. Block subsidies and transaction fees affect the reward, not the chance that a given hash meets the current target. This tool estimates block discovery, not earnings or a date when your balance will reach 1 BTC.
