Privacy & measurement

We measure visits and mining activity to understand whether this free experiment is useful. Analytics is hosted on the project's own server and is accessible only to the project owner.

What is measured

A random browser cookie supplies an anonymous visitor identifier. We record visit dates, mining start and stop times, active duration, worker count, browser and operating system family, device category, approximate country from your connection's IP address, referring website hostname, and campaign source, medium and name, and the landing-page path without its query string. Campaign attribution is retained in tab session storage across reloads and mining starts. Hashrate and hash counts are reported by your browser. Shares and block outcomes come from the mining backend.

We do not use fingerprinting. Analytics does not store raw IP addresses, your full browser user-agent string, full referring URLs, or your Bitcoin payout address. A raw IP may be processed briefly in memory for country lookup and security; country lookup stays on our server. Anonymous history is retained for project statistics until the owner removes or archives it.

Country lookup uses a local database. IP Geolocation by DB-IP (Country Lite, CC BY 4.0). Visitor IP addresses are not sent to DB-IP or another geolocation service. Country is approximate; a VPN or proxy may show its exit country, and unavailable locations remain Unknown. We do not request device location or determine your street address.

Cookies and mining results

The HttpOnly browser cookie also lets you retrieve your own block results after a refresh. It expires after one year. Clearing it creates a new anonymous visitor and removes your browser's access to its previous private block history. Block-result storage is separate from analytics and contains the public payout address needed to verify a result.

Your choice

Mining only starts when you press Start Mining. Local benchmark activity is excluded from analytics. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, when enabled in your browser, disables visit and mining analytics. It does not disable mining or your private block-result history.

Security and limitations

The hosting provider and reverse proxy may maintain separate security access logs. Cookie-based visitor counts are estimates: separate browsers and cleared cookies appear as new visitors. Browser-reported hashrate is activity telemetry, not proof of a Bitcoin reward.
